As water levels on Phetkasem Road in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, continue to recede, stranded residents have begun evacuating from risk areas. Some have come out to collect rice and dried food to take home to friends and relatives still living in areas still flooded. The scene along the road after the water receded revealed extensive damage to shops, cars, and homes. Meanwhile, some residents have begun cleaning up after the floods. Regarding the flood-related death toll in the area, as of 6:00 PM, Forensic Science Center 9 reported that more than 100 people have been identified in the Hat Yai floods, with at least 20 still requiring further identification. The National Police Chief has ordered the mobilization of forensic and evidence officers and support teams, along with the deployment of mobile cold storage facilities to expedite the investigation and ensure the swift identification and return of bodies to their families.
